I'm back...

Well hi! I'm back to blogging. I'm heading to Paris and I thought it would be great fun to chronicle my trip on my blog. It's a been a while. Looking forward to sharing my travel experiences with you!

A few words about Biodynamism

Biodynamic farming is a polycultural and holistic method of growing crops. It advocates for the use of a complete energy cycle on the farm, from earth to plant to animal and back. One in which the quality of the soil, plant, and produce is equated to the energy cycle within the entire ecosystem. It emphasizes the whole plant, encompasses the entire yearly calendar, and aims to strengthen the relationship between the plant and all energy influences, solar, lunar, astrological, etc. It uses a calendar which explains the best time to stimulate and treat each part of the plant in order to result the best effect. Biodynamic farming also allows for experimentation within given principles and practices so a farmer can tailor to the needs of his own estate.

While it is true that many people simply can't afford to pay more for food, either in money or time or both, many more of us can. After all, just in the last decade or two we've somehow found the time in the day to spend several hours on the internet and the money in the budget not only to pay for broadband service, but to cover a second phone bill and a new monthly bill for television, formerly free. For the majority of Americans, spending more for better food is less a matter of ability than priority.
